Paraguayan who managed to leave Israel relates a challenging experience and is grateful for the Chancellery’s assistance

Asunción, Agencia IP.- María Inés Ramírez, a Paraguayan who was doing tourism in Israel with her mother when the war conflict started, relates the harsh experience she went through. She thanked the assistance of the Paraguayan Embassy in Türkiye, which helped them to embark on a humanitarian flight to leave the war zone.

The Paraguayan professional is a scholar from Becal pursuing a specialization in Spain. From there, she made a trip to Israel with her mother. “We arrived in Israel a few days before; we were on a cruise whose last stop was Israel. We planned to stay there for a few days, but the conflict started”, she detailed.

Ramírez said they were in the coastal city of Haifa in the south of Israel, while the bombings started in the north. When she found out what was happening, they received instructions to keep themselves safe from the first moment.

María Inés claimed that there were no attacks when they were in Haifa, and they communicated promptly with the Paraguayan Embassy to initiate the transfer that finally occurred past Wednesday.

“We left yesterday through a humanitarian flight from Tel Aviv to Egypt, from the latter to Istanbul, then, to San Paulo and finally, Asunción” she pointed out during an interview with the National Radio of Paraguay.

During another interview, she thanked the Paraguayan Embassy for their accompaniment and helped them leave the war zone. “I want to thank the Paraguayan Embassy, who always were there for us and helped to leave Israel when there was no commercial flight left. By our means we would not have been able to do it. When we arrived in Istanbul, we were received and accompanied. We feel blessed and fortunate to be able to pass that difficult situation”, she said.

The Paraguayan said the problematic moment they went through in Israel, mainly in the Tel Aviv airport. “Even when we were already on the plane to leave for Egypt, the sirens of Tel Aviv started to sound, and they made us leave the plane again and stay in a shelter in the airport because there were missiles at that same moment when we were about to depart. After we left the airport, all the flights from Tel Aviv were cancelled. We are now safe, thanks to the embassy”, she stated.
