Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) and the Deputy Ministry of Transportation have outlined a roadmap for implementing electric mobility in urban transportation. By the middle of next year, they expect to have five buses as part of the cooperation with South Korea.
The Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), Lorena Méndez, emphasized that the meeting with the Vice Minister of Transportation, Guido Benza, is part of the efforts within the Strategic Electric Mobility Council.
This initiative brings together state institutions to implement the electric mobility plan, which proposes replacing petroleum derivatives in logistics and passenger transport and developing an electric automotive industry.
MIC has a cooperation agreement with the Korea Automotive Technology Institute, amounting to $18 million, to establish a production center for electric vehicle parts at the Itaipu Technological Park (PTI) in Hernandarias and the transfer of knowledge.
By mid-2024, the Ministry reported the arrival of five fully electric buses, with two charging stations for installation.
