The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, signed Decree 1,741 appointing «as coordinator of tasks aimed at the evaluation and implementation of socio-environmental traceability systems that guarantee the competitiveness and full access of Paraguayan goods and products in international markets.»

The following government ministries are called upon for the development of the socio-environmental traceability work platform:

– Ministry of Industry and Commerce

– Ministry of Foreign Affairs
– Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development

In this regard, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Javier Giménez, indicated that through this platform, effective use of technologies will be made, and efforts will be combined «to provide the private sector that will work together with us in the creation of this platform and tools for exporting to Europe if desired,» Giménez detailed in an interview with radio station 1020 AM.

He clarified in that sense that no one is obligated to export to the European continent, but if required, they will have a platform available through a partnership between the public and private sectors.
