Asunción, Agencia IP.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, received the Ambassador of Taiwan, José Chih-Cheng Han, and business people interested in investing in Paraguay in areas such as transportation and semiconductors.
«We continue to strengthen the friendship and cooperation with Taiwan. Today, I received José Chih-Cheng Han, the Ambassador of Taiwan, and business people interested in investing in Paraguay in areas such as transportation and semiconductors,» President Peña reported through his social media.
He emphasized that the government will continue working to turn Paraguay into an investment hub driven by the potential of our people.
During his last visit to Taiwan in May, President Peña had set the challenge of changing the relationship paradigm between Paraguay and Taiwan, aiming to deepen the alliance in areas such as technology transfer.
He mentioned the project to implement Taiwanese electric buses in Paraguay, which could modernize and significantly reduce the cost of public transportation in the country.
He also mentioned Paraguay’s potential to become a development center for the semiconductor industry, a sector in which Taiwan is a global leader.
Paraguay’s energy availability, the potential of its young workforce, and proximity to essential markets are some of the attractions Paraguay offers in this strategic alliance.
