Bilateral trade exchange and investments were discussed during meetings in the U.S.

Asunción, Agencia IP.- Foreign Minister Rubén Ramírez Lezcano met in the United States with Congressman Jason Smith, a member of the House of Representatives for the State of Missouri, Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, and a member of the Budget Committee and the Subcommittees on Social Security and Human Resources. He also spoke with Deputy Secretary of Economic Growth, Energy, and Environment, José Fernández.

During the meeting with the American congressman, they followed up on the issues discussed during President Santiago Peña’s visit to the Capitol on May 16 and the subsequent communications between the president and the congressman.

They also discussed opportunities to increase bilateral trade and investments, especially cooperation in technology and security.

With the Deputy Secretary of Economic Growth, Ramírez reviewed the bilateral agenda between Paraguay and the United States, particularly regarding trade, investments, and cooperation in technology and security.

They also discussed Paraguay’s intention to join the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) and the continuation of the bilateral dialogue.
