This took place during the Early Childhood Symposium, an event organized by UNICEF and Theirworld within the framework of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The First Lady and the Minister of Children and Adolescents reaffirmed their commitment to continuing to promote the early childhood program, a national initiative that seeks to comprehensively address the needs of this sector.
The program ensures essential services such as healthcare, education, nutrition, and protection for children from birth to age eight.
During his speech, Gutiérrez emphasized that Paraguay’s management model for early childhood policies has been a political leadership example, led by the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, and the First Lady, Leticia Ocampos. He stressed that investment in early childhood is not only an act of social justice but also a strategic investment with high economic and social returns.
The symposium highlighted the government’s achievements, such as the creation of 100 Comprehensive Early Childhood Care Centers and the expansion of the «Zero Hunger» school feeding program, which aims to eradicate child malnutrition across the country.
Through participation in this international event, Paraguay solidifies its position as a country committed to building a more prosperous and equitable future based on investing in the early years of its youngest citizens.
