Paraguay and Taiwan move towards new opportunities through tourism

Asunción, Agencia IP.- In a significant step towards strengthening ties between Paraguay and Taiwan, the Paraguayan Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte, and the Director General of Taiwan’s Tourism Administration (TTA), Joe Y. Chou, signed a Letter of Intent to promote tourism cooperation between the two nations. This agreement establishes a collaborative framework to expand tourism and economic opportunities in both regions.

At the signing ceremony, Minister Duarte highlighted that this alliance represents a «firm commitment to jointly foster development and innovation in key tourism sectors and diversify tourism offerings in both Paraguay and Taiwan.» She also emphasized the importance of this partnership in positioning Paraguay as an attractive global destination.

For his part, TTA Director Joe Y. Chou underscored the new opportunities that this collaboration opens for promoting tourism. He also highlighted Taiwan’s potential to share its tourism development model with Paraguay, enabling mutual enrichment and a solid foundation for shared learning.

The Letter of Intent includes concrete initiatives, such as training programs, research and development projects, and promoting investments in the tourism sector. These actions aim to strengthen the tourism industry in both countries while creating a synergy that enhances Paraguay’s positioning in the global tourism market.

This alliance is expected to yield mutual benefits, contributing to the sustainable development of the tourism sector, reinforcing diplomatic and cultural relations between Paraguay and Taiwan, and fostering a shared vision of growth and cooperation.
