The Single Window indicated that the American continent imported Paraguayan products worth USD 578 million under the certificate of origin, totaling 978,276 tons. This region thus stands as the primary destination for October.
In the region, notable markets include Brazil, with imports of USD 226 million; Argentina, USD 147 million; Chile, USD 87 million; and the United States, USD 43 million. For Paraguayan products acquired during this period, Peru and Uruguay are also included with smaller amounts, at USD 21 million and USD 14 million, respectively.
Asia was another major destination, with exports totaling USD 89 million and around 60,272 tons of products. Taiwan notably imported Paraguayan goods worth USD 24 million.
Meanwhile, approximately USD 82 million products were exported to Europe under the certificate, totaling 117,229 tons. Russia imported USD 22 million in products in Europe, followed by the United Kingdom with USD 13 million.
In October, exports were also recorded to Africa, totaling USD 5 million, and to Oceania, amounting to USD 744,834.
It’s worth mentioning that the Certificate of Origin for Export is a sworn document declaring that the goods for export comply with established origin regulations. It provides tariff benefits in the destination country and allows exporters to use available import quotas.
The document is valid for 180 days from the date of issuance, as established in each trade agreement.
