Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Paraguayan President, Santiago Peña, congratulated Donald Trump following the United States presidential election results.
«Congratulations @realDonaldTrump on being elected as the new President of the United States. Democracy has once again shown its strength! Paraguay and the United States share deep-rooted democratic values, and I am confident we will continue to deepen our cooperation for the benefit of both our nations,» Peña wrote today on his official X account.
Trump will assume office as the 47th president, four years after leaving as the 45th president, becoming the first politician since Grover Cleveland in the late 19th century to lose re-election and then successfully run again.
The New York Times highlights that at 78 years old, Trump becomes the oldest person elected to the presidency, breaking the record previously held by President Joe Biden.
