Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Foreign Affairs Minister, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, met with the President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
According to a statement posted by the Paraguayan Foreign Ministry on its X account, «During the meeting, which continues the dialogue initiated last week between President Santiago Peña and his counterpart, they agreed to advance the bilateral agenda, strengthen relations, and foster the economic development of both countries.»
The Minister also greeted businessman Elon Musk, who has been announced as the leader of the Department of Government Efficiency in the administration set to take office in the U.S. on January 20.
Minister Ramírez is currently in the United States, holding meetings with diplomats and members of Congress. Among them was Mario Díaz-Balart, a Republican U.S. House of Representatives member, with whom he discussed Paraguay, the region, and the challenges ahead.
Additionally, he met with Carlos Trujillo, the former U.S. Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), to discuss regional issues and the role the OAS should play in strengthening democracy and democratic values across the hemisphere.
