Pork sector exports increased revenue by 75% in 2024

Asunción, Agencia IP.- Pork sector exports closed 2024 with record-breaking figures. With Taiwan as the leading destination, the sector increased its export volume by 55% and revenue by 75% compared to the previous year.

2024 marked the best year in history for Paraguay’s pork sector. By the end of December, the country had exported 11,961,894 kilograms, a 55% increase over the previous year’s shipments.

Taiwan was the top export market, absorbing nearly 90% of shipments. Uruguay ranked second, while other markets included Georgia, Vietnam, and Brazil.

Export revenue increased by 75%, from $19.1 million in 2023 to $33.5 million in 2024.

The poultry sector is also expanding

The poultry sector also achieved positive results in 2024. Although export volume decreased, revenue grew by 8.6%, surpassing $14 million in a single year for the first time.
