Peña meets with the U.S. Secretary of State to discuss a shared vision for cooperation and development

Asunción, Agencia IP.- President of the Republic Santiago Peña held a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which they discussed a shared vision for cooperation and development.

«I thank Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State, for the opportunity to discuss key issues to strengthen the relationship between our countries,» Peña expressed on his official X account.

The President further stated that the conversation revolved around a shared vision for cooperation and development.

«I am confident that, by working together, we can achieve great things that benefit our nations and the entire region,» he said.

Other meetings

The President also met with Brian Mast, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman, where they discussed the importance of the Paraguay-U.S. relationship and focused on strengthening ties in areas of mutual interest.

Additionally, President Peña met with a group of U.S. congress members, including Jason Smith, Claudia Tenney, Carol Miller, Adrián Smith, Mark Alford, and Ed Case.

«We spoke about the strong relationship between Paraguay and the United States, highlighting the shared values that unite us and the importance of working together to achieve our goals,» Peña detailed on X.

In a meeting with Senator Tim Kaine, they emphasized the importance of deepening ties between Paraguay and the United States, aiming to generate greater opportunities for cooperation and development.

Furthermore, Peña discussed with congress members Mario Rafael Díaz-Balart, Chuck Edwards, Ken Calvert, Lois Frankel, Norma Torres, and Mike Quigley. They explored a roadmap for joint efforts between Paraguay and the United States.

«I am convinced that through dialogue and cooperation, we can advance initiatives that promote mutual development,» Peña underscored.

President Peña also spoke with Senator Bernie Moreno about shared interests and the importance of strengthening cooperation between Paraguay and the United States.

«This meeting reflects our commitment to continue working together on key areas that drive development and the well-being of our nations,» he added.

Business discussions

Separately, the President discussed investment opportunities in Paraguay with entrepreneur Carlos Slim, highlighting significant ongoing investments in the country.

«It is gratifying to see how our potential continues to attract global leaders committed to development. We will keep working to make Paraguay an increasingly attractive destination for new investments that generate jobs and progress,» Peña concluded.
