Asunción, Agencia IP.- With an investment of over USD 6 million and a strategic location in the city of Minga Guazú, in the Alto Paraná department, this innovative industrial park represents a significant investment. It reinforces the commitment to job creation, investment attraction, sustainable development, and innovation within Paraguay’s industrial sector.
The official resolution authorizing the Taiwan-Paraguay Smart Technology Park operation in Alto Paraná was delivered this Tuesday by the Vice Minister of Industry, Marco Riquelme.
The Smart Technology Park has a total investment of USD 6.3 million is a large-scale project. The facility spans 40 hectares, offering 93 industrial lots and 22,050 m² of civil works. Its state-of-the-art infrastructure enhances industrial, logistical, and industry-support services, focusing on innovative technology.
The Vice Minister of Industry stated that this site in Minga Guazú aims to attract investments, create jobs, and address energy challenges to facilitate industrial growth by aligning labor demand with job supply.
In this regard, he mentioned that from now on, they plan to direct businesspeople visiting the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) to explore this model park, allowing them to witness its potential and the opportunities Paraguay has to offer.
Currently, the complex hosts five leading companies in the plastics, textile, industrial tape, and services sectors, with expectations for additional national and international high-innovation industries to join. According to the MIC, this further strengthens the park’s appeal as a key destination for investment and quality job creation in Paraguay.
Smart technology hub
The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is leading the «Taiwan Industrial Park Revitalization Project» with an investment of USD 6,299,937 to transform it into an innovative technology hub, driving Paraguay’s industrial transformation.
Taiwan’s Ambassador to Paraguay, José Chih-Cheng Han, highlighted that the park continues to establish itself as a key investment attraction hub, with the confirmation that Máster Bus will set up its electric bus assembly plant within the complex.
Additionally, he praised the speed and efficiency of the Paraguayan government, through the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), in streamlining procedures for the park’s development.
He also emphasized the significance of Paraguay’s new Industrial Parks Law, highlighting the role such initiatives can play in the country’s development, given Taiwan’s extensive experience in this field.
Furthermore, the ambassador reiterated that the park maintains an open-door policy for investments from Taiwan and other countries interested in becoming part of this industrial ecosystem.
