The bioceanic corridor was a topic of discussion between Peña and the Chilean President

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Head of State, Santiago Peña, held a bilateral meeting last Saturday with his Chilean counterpart, Gabriel Boric, during his visit to Uruguay to attend the inauguration of Yamandú Orsi as President. Additionally, he spoke with the leaders of Guatemala and Panama.

During the meeting, the Presidents discussed key issues to strengthen integration between both countries.

One of the main topics addressed was the progress of the Bioceanic Corridor, a project aimed at improving connectivity and boosting regional trade.

Paraguay’s Office of the Presidency also highlighted the growth of commercial exchange, with Paraguay expanding its presence in the Chilean market.

Furthermore, they discussed digital integration with the Humboldt Project as a strategic opportunity to connect with Asia and explore potential cooperation in the energy sector.

«We will continue working together to create more opportunities and improve the quality of life for our people,» stated Peña.

It is worth noting that in July last year, the Chilean President visited Asunción, during which both leaders issued a joint declaration and exchanged honors.

Meeting with the President of Guatemala

Additionally, President Santiago Peña and the President of Guatemala, Bernardo Arévalo de León, met in Montevideo to discuss the importance of strengthening regional integration between South America and Central America to promote economic, commercial, and cultural development.

The two leaders also shared a common geopolitical vision. «We will continue working together to strengthen these ties and create more opportunities for our countries,» emphasized Santiago Peña.

Bilateral meeting with the President of Panama

Earlier, Santiago Peña held a bilateral meeting with his Panamanian counterpart, José Mulino, reaffirming their shared interest in strengthening economic and trade relations.

During the discussion, they discussed Panama’s association process with Mercosur and joint efforts to facilitate access for Paraguayan beef to that key market.

They also highlighted Panama’s strategic role as a distribution and communication hub, especially in air transportation, a crucial aspect of their bilateral relationship.

«Paraguay will continue advancing alongside Panama to maximize these opportunities and generate greater benefits for our people,» said the Paraguayan President.
