Paraguay and Taiwan explore the incorporation of AI in agricultural production

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Paraguay and the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) are exploring opportunities to apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) in agricultural production, focusing on aquaculture and orchid cultivation.

In this regard, the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Giménez, met yesterday with representatives from the Taiwan Embassy in Paraguay, led by the Secretary-General of the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF), Huang Yu-Lin, Ph.D.

The Taiwanese delegation presented an AI-based system for efficient climate control and risk reduction in production. This model would optimize performance and sustainability in these sectors, using data analysis to improve decision-making and minimize losses.

The initiative aims to elevate the level of agriculture and livestock farming in Paraguay with precision technology, avoiding high-risk production systems and working more efficiently and sustainably.

During the meeting, Minister Giménez showcased the benefits of garlic cultivation in the country to international experts.

The cooperation between both countries seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of Paraguay’s agricultural sector through technological innovation, with tools that allow for greater precision in crop and livestock management.
