Asunción, Agencia IP.- Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines are among the markets where Paraguay is working to gain access to its beef. The goal is to diversify and conquer new destinations. Opening strategic markets would allow Paraguay to double the number of potential consumers of its meat.
In collaboration with the Foreign Ministry and private sector actors, the Vice Ministry of the Network of Investments and Exports (Rediex) is carrying out commercial missions to various parts of the world to open more markets for Paraguayan meat, with a primary focus on Southeast Asia.
In this regard, the general manager of the Paraguayan Meat Chamber (CPC), Daniel Burt, stated that Paraguay is among the top ten meat exporters globally. «We are producing more and better meat, and more markets are opening up for us,» said the CPC representative.
He added that Paraguay is currently working on opening strategic markets such as Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and the Philippines, which is expected to double the number of potential consumers of Paraguayan meat.
«We are in a process that I believe is unprecedented in Paraguay’s history, working on market openings and removing sanitary barriers. We opened the U.S. market in Canada and are about to open in Mexico. Having conquered North America, our sights are set on Southeast Asia, Japan, and South Korea,» he said.
The opening of strategic markets, like those mentioned, would allow Paraguay to double its potential consumer base for its meat. Regarding this, Burt emphasized the importance of market diversification, as it is a key factor for the sector’s stability, something the country is working to strengthen to avoid any obstacles that may arise.
