Asunción, Agencia IP.- Paraguay’s foreign trade balance closed the first quarter of the year with a surplus of USD 32 million, thanks to a 1.4% increase in exports compared to the first three months of last year.
Total exports reached USD 4.087.7 million, a 1.4% increase over the amount recorded by March of the previous year. Transactions were carried out with 123 countries representing Paraguayan export destinations.
Agricultural-based manufactured goods recorded a 14.9% increase in exports compared to March 2024. This performance was mainly due to higher shipments of beef and offal.
Industrial-based manufactured goods reached a value of USD 417.6 million, marking a 6.6% increase compared to March 2024. This rise was mainly driven by higher aluminum exports and its products, wires, cables, and other conductors.
On the other hand, total imports amounted to USD 4.055.7 million, representing a 4.3% increase. Purchases were made from 143 countries, which represent the sources of Paraguay’s external purchases.
