Asunción, Agencia IP.- By April, the value of Paraguayan beef exports reached USD 658,678,568, representing a 42.8% increase compared to the revenue generated from beef sales in foreign markets during the first four months of last year.
This rise in income was also accompanied by an increase in export volume, which was 23% higher than the amount recorded last year. From January to April this year, 116,997,193 kilograms of beef were sold on the international market.
Chile remains the top destination for Paraguayan beef exports, accounting for 32% of the total. It is followed by Taiwan, which currently absorbs 14% of the country’s beef exports. The United States ranks third with a 12% share, while Israel ranks fourth with 10%.
Pork and poultry exports
Regarding pork, 4,234,032 kilograms were exported during the first four months of this year, 40% more than during the same period last year.
Taiwan is the primary market for Paraguayan pork, consuming 82% of the product, followed by Uruguay with 12%, Georgia with 4%, and Brazil with 2%.
Regarding poultry, 1,779,532 kilograms of chicken meat were exported by April, representing a 4.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
The largest market for poultry exports is Iraq, which accounts for 40% of total exports in this category. Albania follows with 20%, Vietnam with 16%, and Angola with 6%.
