The United States thanks Paraguay for designating terrorist groups

Asunción, Agencia IP.- Foreign Minister Rubén Ramírez Lezcano met last Friday with the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Paraguay, Amir Masliyah, who thanked the government for the designation of terrorist groups.

During the meeting, Masliyah delivered a letter from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in which he thanked the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, for his firm decision to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hezbollah, and Hamas as terrorist organizations.

The letter highlights that Paraguay continues to demonstrate significant leadership in the region by denying Iran operational spaces to organize and carry out terrorist acts.

«We look forward to continuing our partnership to create a safer, stronger, and more prosperous hemisphere for both nations,» the letter concludes.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two officials also discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Paraguay and the United States, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation in various areas.
