Asunción, Agencia IP.- After meeting with a group of Indian business leaders, the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, highlighted their enthusiasm and acknowledgment of the government’s efforts to «open Paraguay to the world.»
Last Monday, Peña met with Naveen Jindal, President of Jindal Steel and Power, a leading steel producer in India, along with prominent businesspeople and private sector leaders, to discuss investment opportunities in Paraguay in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, technology, and industry.
In this context, Indian businessman Naveen Jindal highlighted Paraguay’s potential as an investment destination in the energy, technology, and industrial sectors.
«With this visit from President Peña, relations between India and Paraguay will surely improve; there are many opportunities in Paraguay, and India has the experience — with this combination, there are great possibilities for Indian companies to work in Paraguay,» said the steel producer.
During the meeting, they also discussed the vast potential of clean and renewable energy and how India’s experience and capabilities can complement it.
«It was very encouraging to feel the enthusiasm of the business leaders and receive their recognition for the efforts we are making to open Paraguay to the world,» Peña shared on his social media as part of his official visit to India.
It’s worth mentioning that earlier, the Paraguayan head of state was received by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On that occasion, they emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations.
Peña also affirmed that Paraguay is ready to build bridges with India, guided by a strategic vision and a commitment to a shared future of sustainable growth.
