Indian entrepreneurs see Paraguay as a gateway to South America

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, met with over 100 CEOs from Indian startups operating in strategic sectors such as logistics, transportation, energy, pharmaceuticals, and applied technology.

The meeting served as a platform to present Paraguay’s unique advantages as an investment destination and regional platform for operations in South America.

Representatives of India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem expressed interest in getting to know the country and establishing commercial and productive ties, recognizing Paraguay as a favorable environment for scaling operations with regional impact.

Clean and abundant energy, strategic location, economic stability, and clear business regulations were among the key elements highlighted during the presentation, according to the Office of the President.

With more than 100,000 registered startups, India stands as one of the world’s largest innovation ecosystems. The country has built a strong network of emerging companies leading advancements in digital health, artificial intelligence, clean energy, fintech, and sustainable mobility—developing high-impact solutions for emerging markets.

The growing interest in Paraguay reflects a concrete opportunity to attract smart investment, promote technology transfer, and develop partnerships that strengthen key sectors of the national economy. Using Paraguay as a logistics and operations hub for the Southern Cone represents a strategic move both for Indian entrepreneurs and for Paraguay’s economic development.

This openness to new players in the global tech ecosystem aligns with President Peña’s active foreign policy aimed at attracting investments that generate formal employment, drive innovation, and promote equitable growth.

These actions reaffirm Paraguay’s international positioning as a forward-looking country with stable conditions and the capacity to integrate into global value chains—connecting capital, knowledge, and sustainable development.
