Paraguay breaks its record in forestry exports for a third consecutive month

Asunción, Agencia IP.- Paraguay’s forestry exports continue to grow. This past May, plywood exports reached their third consecutive monthly record, totaling 2,925 tons exported—a 5.63% increase compared to the previous month.

In FOB value, exports totaled USD 2,458,126, representing a 6.15% increase and exceeding the five-year average by more than 45%.

This trend reaffirms the country’s position as a reliable supplier of value-added products in the international market, driven by the strengthening of the forestry industrial sector.

During the same period, the leading destination countries—measured by FOB value—were the United States, China, and Portugal, demonstrating both market diversification and sustained global interest in Paraguayan forestry products.

The results reflect the sector’s commitment to quality, productive efficiency, and openness to international markets, positioning Paraguay as an increasingly competitive player in the forestry trade.
