Asunción, Agencia IP.- Paraguay has positioned itself as the fastest-growing tourist destination in the world, registering a 53% increase in international tourist arrivals during the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
This is revealed by the latest report from UN Tourism, which places Paraguay ahead of global tourism powerhouses such as Brazil (48%), Chile (48%), and Vietnam (30%).
This remarkable performance places Paraguay at the top of the global ranking for tourism recovery and growth, underscoring the country’s growing appeal on the world stage.
«This recognition reflects the joint efforts of the public and private sectors, along with local communities. We are working passionately to show the world that Paraguay is a hidden gem, with its vibrant culture, authentic nature, and genuine hospitality,» said Angie Duarte, Minister of the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur).
In a global context marked by intense competition and post-pandemic recovery, Paraguay has succeeded in drawing international attention through a strategy focused on promoting authentic experiences, developing tourism infrastructure, hosting international events, and committing to sustainable tourism.
According to the report, the Americas was the best-performing region during this period, with Paraguay, Brazil, and Chile leading the way. The top three countries with the highest increase in international tourist arrivals during the first quarter of 2025 were Paraguay, with a remarkable 53% growth, followed by Brazil and Chile, both registering a 48% increase.
