Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Government of Paraguay celebrated the release of 20 Israeli hostages in Gaza, describing it as «a crucial step toward peace in the region.»
Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government stated the release of the 20 Israeli hostages who were freed alive after more than two years of captivity in Gaza.
«The Government of Paraguay celebrates the release of the 20 Israeli hostages in Gaza, a crucial step toward peace in the region,» the statement read.
It also highlighted the diplomatic efforts led by U.S. President Donald Trump, which culminated in the signing of the Middle East peace agreement yesterday.
In this context, the Foreign Ministry reiterated Paraguay’s commitment to security, stability, and international cooperation for a future of reconciliation.
Earlier, the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, stated last Monday that the signing of the peace agreement for Gaza «is a historic day» for «the entire world.»
«Today is a historic day for peace, not only in the Middle East but in the entire world. Paraguay reaffirms its commitment to peace, dialogue, and international cooperation,» the President said in a video released this morning on his social media.
The Peace Summit marks a new chapter in international efforts toward understanding among nations, positioning Paraguay among the countries that support and promote consensus-building and global cooperation in the most sensitive arenas of the international community.
