Foreign Minister presents Paraguay’s comparative advantages and global positioning in the United States

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, was the keynote speaker at «Strategic Convergence: U.S.-Paraguay Partnership for a Shared Economic Future,» an event that brought together business leaders and authorities at the Embassy of Paraguay in the United States of America. On the occasion, he spoke about Paraguay’s positioning in the world, the opportunities it offers, and the pillars that sustain its foreign policy.

During his remarks, the minister highlighted Paraguay’s international standing, referring to the strengthening of relations with new regions, such as the Gulf, Africa, and the Indo-Pacific, as well as strategic alliances with countries including the United States, Israel, Taiwan, and Japan.

He also mentioned the new strategic agreements being promoted with countries in Asia and the Pacific, in addition to progress made in trade agreements and in the process of consolidating Mercosur.

The minister reaffirmed the Government’s full commitment to the fight against transnational organized crime, emphasizing the need for joint work with strategic partners to achieve effective results. He also highlighted coordinated efforts in managing and controlling migratory flows, including the agreement with the United States on a safe third-country arrangement.

Participating in the event were Paraguay’s ambassador to the United States, Gustavo Leite; U.S. Department of State representative Frank Cartwright Weiland; the president and CEO of Global Americans, Diego Area; as well as business leaders and officials.

It is worth noting that the activity was organized by Global Americans, with support from the Paraguayan Embassy. The organization is an independent research center that studies policy and relations between the United States and Latin America, offering key analysis and debates to better understand regional and U.S. foreign policy.
