Asunción, Agencia IP.- Paraguay has reached the pinnacle of world motorsport. The International Automobile Federation (FIA) crowned the WRC Ueno Rally Paraguay as the Best Rally in the World 2025, an unprecedented distinction that positions the country as an emerging powerhouse on the World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar.
The award was presented in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, during the FIA Annual Awards Gala, where the most significant milestones in motorsport are recognized. The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, accepted the award on behalf of the country and celebrated the achievement.
«I receive this award with great pride and with the satisfaction of seeing our country recognized at the highest level of international motorsport. This achievement is the result of serious work, responsible planning, and coordination between the public sector, the private sector, and citizens, along with the tireless efforts of all the people and institutions that made the Rally Paraguay possible,» the President said.
He stated that this recognition proves Paraguay’s ability to organize international-level events while meeting the highest standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.
The «Rally of the Year» award is given to the event that demonstrates organizational excellence, sporting impact, innovation, safety, and a unique spectator experience.
In its first edition, Paraguay surpassed historic hosts such as Portugal, Finland, and Japan, as well as emerging powers like Saudi Arabia, establishing itself as the best debut event in WRC history.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the WRC Ueno Rally Paraguay, César Marsal, highlighted the unprecedented coordination between public institutions, the private sector, and the community observed during the event held in Paraguay. «This recognition belongs to everyone. Paraguay showed that when it works together, there are no limits,» he said.
Marsal announced that the 2026 edition will be even more spectacular, featuring new stages, a nighttime Super Special stage, improvements to the Service Park, and more safe areas for spectators. The next Rally will take place from August 27 to 30.
