High turnout at the first 2026 MigraMóvil in Ciudad del Este: Find out the upcoming dates and locations

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Paraguayan Directorate of Migration reported that approximately 800 people have already begun their residency procedures as part of the first MigraMóvil of the year, currently underway in Ciudad del Este.

The event is being held at the Mangoré Cultural Center from Monday, February 9, through Friday, February 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The team continues to receive applications for temporary and permanent residency, extensions, renewals, replacement of residence cards, and other procedures authorized by the institution.

The high turnout in the first days reflects sustained demand for migration documentation and underscores the importance of this outreach program, which brings institutional services closer to the foreign community and streamlines processes by having the full document-verification team on-site.

Annual planning and modalities

The MigraMóvil schedule includes editions planned throughout the year, distributed across all four quarters, and is subject to adjustments to dates and locations based on venue availability and the operational conditions of the mobile teams. This planning allows migrants to prepare their documentation in advance to apply for residency or complete other procedures.

The program aims to expand, decentralize, and streamline migration services, ensuring an efficient and accessible process for the regularization of foreigners in Paraguay and the documentation of new migrants. Through an itinerant scheme, mobile teams assist with receiving, processing, and delivering migration documents.

Under the regular modality, operations take place in high-demand cities, where residence cards and other documents are processed and issued. The reduced modality consists of shorter sessions at lower-demand locations, with a focus on application reception and other procedures.

Available services include temporary and permanent residency, residency extensions, replacement and renewal of residence cards, residency certificates, extension of stay, spontaneous or occasional residency, cancellation of applications, and migration movement certificates, some of which are finalized later at the central office.

Interinstitutional support

MigraMóvil editions are supported by various institutions. The National Police, through its IT and Interpol Departments, issues background certificates for foreigners; the Secretariat for Repatriates (SEDERREC) assists foreigners with family ties to Paraguayan citizens; and the National Commission for Refugees (CONARE) provides guidance to asylum seekers. Logistical support is also provided by the governor’s offices and municipalities where the operations take place.

Although the Directorate of Migration maintains permanent offices in various departmental capitals across the country, MigraMóvil centralizes all involved institutions in a single location, streamlining procedures and expediting the issuance of residence cards to approved applicants.

The institution reminds the public that procedures will continue through Friday at the designated site and that fees are available on the Paraguayan Directorate of Migration’s official website.

For further information, the institution may be contacted Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., via the contact center at (+595 21) 411 2000, by email at migraciones@migraciones.gov.py, or through its official social media channels.
