Asunción, Agencia IP.- During the inaugural session of the Peace Board, President Donald Trump thanked Santiago Peña for his presence and support for the initiative to build lasting peace in the Gaza Strip.
For his part, the Paraguayan President praised Trump’s leadership in rebuilding an international system capable of delivering real solutions.
The Head of State recalled Paraguay’s historical experience of facing extreme circumstances. «I come from a country that 160 years ago faced extinction. We went to a war against our neighbors and lost 60% of our territory and 90% of the male population,» he stated.
In that regard, he emphasized the country’s commitment as a founding member of the Council. «Paraguay is so proud to be a founding member of the Peace Board. We are here to collaborate.»
«Today it is Gaza, tomorrow it will be another conflict, but we need to solve all these conflicts,» he added, expressing Paraguay’s willingness to cooperate with initiatives promoted by the United States actively.
