Asunción, Agencia IP.- 27 conational repatriates received financial contributions to strengthening their ventures from the Secretariat of Development for Repatriated and Refugees (SEDERREC, by its acronym in Spanish). Today, the institution signed an agreement with the Council of Governors to install offices nationwide in each of the 17 governorates.
The Minister of Repatriates, Édgar Ruíz, stated that the financial contributions support the consolidation of their Small and Midsize Enterprises. “The Paraguayan State grants capital that is in return for what they already invest in the business they are building today,” he said.
He added that the repatriates implement business when returning to the country, consisting mainly of gastronomy, handicrafts, and services, which generate job sources and reactivate the country’s economy. Ruíz stated that this is the second time that contributions are given this year and that a third grant will be delivered before the year’s end.
About the economic resources, Ruíz explained that approximately G. 1.000 million are due to be given this year, of which G. 370 million were already granted on the first call of the programme. Around the same amount was delivered today, and it will be handed over in the third call.
The requests are made virtually through the website www.repatriados.gov.py to access this benefit. “To benefit from the program, repatriates must register and complete a form that then goes through a technical analysis to see the feasibility of receiving the benefit,” he said in an interview with the IP Agency.
He claimed that the maximum amount to receive for each entrepreneur is G. 20 million, and the amount delivered is based on the necessity and documents presented during the process. “We based on the feasibility of the business, and it is analyzed it the requirements that the applicants are having fits with the budget”, explained.
Regarding the country’s departments with the most significant number of people returning to the country, he said they are Central, Caaguazú, Alto Paraná and Misiones. The countries from which they return are Argentina, Spain and Brazil.
The compatriots who, on this occasion, successfully passed the training and selection process of the Program called Support for Returned Entrepreneurs. The ventures are located in the departments of Caazapá, Misiones, Itapuá, Ñeembucú, Paraguarí and Guairá.
Signing agreements with governorates
Regarding signing the agreement with the governorates, he said that the main objective is to decentralize services so that compatriots can access Sederrec services more directly through a regional office in the departmental capitals.
