Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Paraguayan team earned another medal in the Pan-American Games that are taking place in Santiago de Chile.
This time, the Paraguayan Selection of Female Handball – the first collective sport to obtain a Pan-American medal in its history – got the bronze medal after winning and beating Chile 23 to 20.
The President of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, Camilo Pérez, celebrated the historical moment on his social media.
“The sixth arrived, four medals in one day. We exceed the number of medals obtained in the last edition of the Lima 2019 Pan-American Games,” the leader wrote.
He added that “there is still a week of competition; we will go further,” and congratulated the girls from the Paraguayan female handball team.
Six medals were completed, and now only the most challenging thing remains: obtaining the gold so that it is also the best management of all time, the highest performance in terms of quality.
Before entering into the final track of the XIX Pan-American Games of Santiago de Chile 2023, the Paraguayan Olympic sport had already exceeded the best management of all times in quantity.
The winners of the medals are Nicole Martínez, Alejandra Alonso (rowing), Leonardo Curcel, Ana Paula Fernández (rafting), and Agua Marina Espínola (cycling) in individual and collective modalities of the handball team.
