Asunción, Agencia IP.- The United States government announced a proposal for two cooperation projects with Paraguay in the connectivity and cybersecurity fields for US$ 6.1 million.
As Nathaniel Fick, U.S. Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy reported, the first project involves installing satellite internet in rural areas and expanding connectivity to remote regions of the country.
The second project is a US$ 3.1 million cooperation effort to enhance cybersecurity in the military sector and ensure that telecommunications equipment does not pose significant risks to the security of the Paraguayan state.
Both programs are part of a broader initiative to support the construction of a secure and resilient digital ecosystem, pending approval from the U.S. Congress.
The announcements were made following a meeting between the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, Nathaniel Fick, and the U.S. Ambassador to Paraguay, Marc Ostfield.
