Asunción, Agencia IP.- President Santiago Peña will attend Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20 in the United States. The Paraguayan leader will travel to the U.S. this Thursday, January 16, until January 22.
The Head of State was invited by the United States’ Congress to attend the ceremony next Monday.
Following the announcement of the November 5 election results, Peña expressed that Paraguay and the region enthusiastically welcomed Trump’s victory.
He noted that Republican administrations in the U.S. tend to foster closer ties with Latin America.
According to his request for authorization to leave the country, which the Congressional Standing Committee approved on Wednesday, Peña will remain in the U.S. until January 22. He will then participate in the Latin America and Caribbean International Economic Forum, organized by CAF, in Panama on January 29 and 30.
