Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Vice Minister of Rediex, Javier Viveros, on a trade mission in China (Taiwan), accompanied representatives of Paraguayan meatpacking plants during the Paraguayan Beef Night in Taipei. The event aimed to strengthen trade relations between countries and explore new opportunities for Paraguayan beef in the Asian market.
This event, organized by the Embassy of Paraguay in Taiwan and the Embassy of Japan in Paraguay, together with the Paraguayan Chamber of Meat and the Investment and Export Network (Rediex), took place on Monday with about 20 Japanese businesspeople. On Tuesday, February 25, another 20 Taiwanese businesspeople attended.
Additionally, more than 20 Paraguayan entrepreneurs from the meat sector participated in business meetings and tastings with Asian executives, who praised the quality and flavor of Paraguayan beef, according to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC).
Vice Minister Viveros emphasized that these were two very important nights for Paraguay’s meat sector, highlighting the excellent work done by the team in Taiwan to coordinate the event.
He stressed the importance of Paraguayan entrepreneurs taking part in these events. He affirmed that Rediex will continue promoting the opening of new markets and attracting investments through similar initiatives.
He also highlighted the participation of Senacsa in the event, with its president, José Carlos Martin, delivering a presentation on the beef sector on Monday, February 24. Viveros pointed out that most Japanese businesspeople were unaware of Paraguay’s positioning in this industry, making their participation crucial in raising awareness and developing new business opportunities.
Meanwhile, Paraguay’s Ambassador to Taiwan, Carlos Fleitas, one of the key figures behind the event, underscored its historic significance, as it was the first time such an event was held in Taipei. He expressed hopes of replicating in Japan the same success that Paraguayan beef is achieving in Taiwan.
He stated that the initiative was designed to promote Paraguayan beef, the country’s main export to Taiwan. The goal is to establish it as a strategic entry point for Paraguayan products into Asian markets.
Likewise, Macarena Barboza, Commercial Attaché of the Paraguayan Embassy, explained that the event aimed to facilitate Paraguayan beef’s entry into Japan via Taiwan. She also noted the interest shown by the Japanese restaurant chain Sukiya, the largest gyudon (traditional beef bowl) chain. She announced that Sukiya representatives plan to visit Paraguay soon to explore further collaborations with Paraguayan businesspeople.
In addition to promoting Paraguayan products, this event aims to attract new investments and export opportunities, as Asian businesspeople increasingly view Paraguay as a key hub for entering the Latin American market.

Ambassador Fleitas and Commercial Attachés Barboza and Paola Subeldía Blasco attended these visits.
The Vice Minister of Rediex will continue engaging with Asian companies interested in investing in Paraguay and importing Paraguayan products for the Taiwanese market and other Southeast Asian countries, according to the MIC.
