Asunción, Agencia IP.- As part of efforts to strengthen industrial development and enhance the country’s competitiveness, authorities from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) participated in a high-level meeting with representatives from Japan and Mexico, focused on exchanging experiences related to developing industrial parks.
The meeting included the participation of the Vice Minister of Industry, Marco Riquelme; the Vice Minister of REDIEX, Javier Viveros; the Ambassador of Japan to Paraguay, Katsumi Itagaki; and the General Director of Guanajuato Puerto Interior (GPI) in Mexico, Héctor López Santillana.
The meeting was held in a hybrid format—both in person and virtual—and centered around the analysis of the GPI model, which, according to the MIC, is considered one of the most successful logistical and industrial complexes in Latin America.
Key topics discussed included strategic planning of industrial parks, investment attraction, infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, and coordination between the public and private sectors.
This initiative is part of MIC’s commitment to promoting Paraguay’s industrialization and creating a favorable environment for sustainable economic growth.
Authorities agreed to strengthen cooperation and dialogue with strategic partners, such as Japan and Mexico, to adapt and replicate successful models that drive national development.
In this context, the MIC reaffirmed its commitment to shared knowledge, innovation, and international collaboration as fundamental pillars for positioning the country as an attractive destination for industrial investment.
