Almost 34,000 kilos of persimmons have already been exported to Europe

Asunción, Agencia IP.- Around 33,800 kilos of persimmons produced in the Misiones department have already been shipped to the European market, according to reports from regional technicians of the National Plant and Seed Quality and Health Service (Senave).

The technicians participated in the phytosanitary inspection processes. These products belong to the company Frutas del Paraguay SA, based in Cerro Costa, in the district of Santa María.

The professionals indicated that the first five shipments, each ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 kilos, were sent this week, with Spain as the destination.

According to information provided by the company, a significant volume will be exported this year, expected to range between 400,000 and 600,000 kilos.

The phytosanitary inspections of the shipments at the point of origin ensure compliance with the phytosanitary requirements established by the destination country, thereby guaranteeing the quality and safety of Paraguayan products.

Since 2023, the year of the first persimmon export, the company has exported 130,000 kilos of this fruit, and in 2024, this figure reached 200,000 kilos.
