64 Paraguayans to travel to Taiwan with scholarships for higher education

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Paraguay has announced the selection of 64 Paraguayans who have been awarded scholarships to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, and Mandarin language studies at educational institutions in Taiwan.

This achievement was made possible thanks to the cooperation between the Government of Taiwan and Paraguayan government bodies such as the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), through the National Scholarship Program «Carlos Antonio López» (BECAL), and the National Institute of Public Administration of Paraguay (INAPP), as well as the Ministry of Education and Sciences (MEC), through the Directorate of Higher Education Scholarships.

The scholarships awarded in this edition are distributed as follows:

  • 50 MOFA scholarships for undergraduate studies
  • 7 ICDF scholarships for postgraduate (master’s) programs
  • 7 HUAYU scholarships for Mandarin Chinese language studies

Since 1991, Taiwan has granted a total of 820 scholarships to Paraguayan students and public officials, strengthening the historical ties of cooperation, friendship, and mutual development between the two countries.

This new group of scholarship recipients is preparing to embark on a unique academic and cultural experience at Taiwanese universities, gaining access to high-level education in various fields of knowledge.
