President and Taiwan’s Foreign Minister highlight bilateral relations and agree to «advance to a higher level of cooperation»

Asunción, Agencia IP.- President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, met this Monday with Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Lin Chia-Lun. During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of «advancing to a higher level of cooperation, in which technological development and investments from Taiwanese companies are the most crucial elements.»

The meeting took place at the Cultural Center of the Port of Asunción, as part of the official visit by the Foreign Minister of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Paraguay.

On this occasion, the authorities reviewed the bilateral agenda, with a key priority being to elevate the partnership, focusing on technological development and investment by Taiwanese companies as central pillars.

They also discussed the global landscape, current challenges, and the strategic alliance between the two countries, which they see as essential for continued joint work.

It is worth noting that Minister Lin was accompanied by a distinguished delegation of over 30 Taiwanese business leaders from strategic sectors such as semiconductors, information and communication technologies (ICT), smart transportation, smart agriculture and livestock, construction, and high-tech smart textiles.

Through this official visit, Minister Lin aims to leverage Taiwan’s technological strengths to support Paraguay’s industrial and technological development, demonstrating to the world that cooperation built on democratic values, mutual trust, and shared benefits is key to achieving sustainable and lasting results.
