Paraguay and the United Kingdom explore railway cooperation and trade links

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Vice Minister of Trade and Services, Rodrigo Maluff, met with the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Paraguay, Danielle Dunne, to address a broad agenda of topics, including the development of a master plan for railways, trade of Paraguayan products, and the promotion of bilateral agreements.

During the meeting, both authorities agreed on the need to strengthen economic ties and move forward with strategic projects.

In this regard, Vice Minister Maluff explained that Paraguay seeks to leverage British expertise to develop a strategic document that would serve as a guide for planning, construction, and operation of a national railway network.

He also reported on the United Kingdom’s interest in importing meat and organic sugar produced in Paraguay, as well as advancing the signing of an agreement to avoid double taxation.

The meeting also included planning a visit by a British Foreign Trade Officer in November and the start of talks for carbon credit transactions.
