Asunción, Agencia IP.- The 91% growth in international visitors during 2025 was driven not only by major sporting events such as the World Rally Championship, the Junior Pan American Games, and the Copa Sudamericana final, but also by cultural events, including concerts and other activities.
«It was a particularly successful year for our country, with a 91% increase in visitors in 2025, recording the arrival of 3.6 million tourists, not only due to sporting events like the World Rally but also because of cultural activities, positioning Paraguay as a country for investment and tourism,» highlighted Javier Ramírez, Director General of Tourism Management at SENATUR.
In 2025, Asunción once again hosted the single-match final of the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana, marking the third time in history that the tournament was decided in a one-off final. The Defensores del Chaco Stadium served as the main venue, following two previous finals held at La Nueva Olla stadium of Club Cerro Porteño in 2019 and 2024.
«We are always recognized as good hosts, particularly for the hospitality of Paraguayan citizens, which leaves an extremely positive impression, combined with the striking landscapes of our cities as a special added value,» Ramírez concluded.
