Biofach Fair: Paraguayan companies of organic products seek new markets for export

Asunción, Agencia IP.- This Friday, the 16th, marks the end of the participation of a dozen Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Paraguayan enterprises at the Biofach Fair, held in Nuremberg, Germany, thanks to the coordination of the Investment and Export Network (Rediex) and the Vice Ministry of MSMEs of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The companies present in the «Paraguay Pavilion» are Business Development S.A. – Wembe, Agrícola Schweigert SA, Valle Verde SA, Agropecuaria Produza S.A., Dosis SRL, Frutika SRL, Ecotranding Yva Py S.A., TGL Foods S.A., German Paraguayan Canadian S.A. – ALPACASA, OTISA, and finally, Hypergrain S.A.

They produce everything from sesame products, chia, sugar, flour, starch, juices, mineral and flavored water, cosmetics, and personal care products.

According to the Deputy Minister of Rediex, Rodrigo Maluff: «for us, the goal is to close new deals, to showcase these new Paraguayan products to the world.»

MSMEs for the world

The fair represents a significant opportunity for global business, being an ample space for positioning organic exporting companies.

Maluff stated that Paraguay’s participation is essential because it reflects the seriousness and precise work of the country in positioning organic products globally. He indicated that the event is crucial because it is transitioning from a matrix of selling 100% organic primary products to processed organic products.

He mentioned that a delegation is also participating to learn how organic products are sold and positioned in other countries.

The Embassy of Paraguay in Germany accompanies the national delegation in person with the presence of Chargé d’Affaires Mr. Eduardo Von Glasenapp, supporting on-site in the management and generation of contacts with companies in the food chain in Germany and Europe.

The 2023 edition of Biofach had more than 2,574 exhibitors from 137 countries in Europe, America, Asia, and Oceania and received more than 35,900 professional visitors from 137 countries. This year, the number increased.
