Asunción, Agencia IP.- The National Chancellor, Rubén Ramírez, informed us that the ways to evacuate the Paraguayans in Israel orderly and securely are being analyzed. He assured that the Government’s priority is «the protection of Paraguayan citizen’s lives», according to his declarations after a meeting with leaders from the benches of the National Congress.
Ramírez pointed out that protecting Paraguayan’s lives is a priority and explained that they have received information regarding two missing Paraguayans. «We cannot confirm their death until we have official information from Israel’s Government», he claimed.
Likewise, he states, «We understand the anxiety of abandoning the territory, but for us, the priority is that the Paraguayan citizens are safe and protected. We are studying ways to evacuate orderly and securely to all our fellow citizens», he informed.
Regarding the complaint of a Paraguayan who supposedly was not served by the Embassy, he mentioned that this person pretended to go out at 3 a.m. When Israeli authorities recommended shelter, he reiterated that the Embassy’s priority is the protection of Paraguayans.
According to the information that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has, there are 160 fellow citizens residing in Israel. The Chancellor indicated that the works are focusing on prioritizing the Paraguayans who want to evacuate Israel and determined their situations to meet the needs of all of them.
Chancellor Rubén Ramírez admitted that there are requests for repatriation, and they are working on it. «We have three plans: One is to leave Israel by Jordania, but before, we must have the security from the Israel Government to allow this way out. Then, there are currently programmed flights for tourists. Still, we must also attend the ones with no flights, so we activated the Mercosur mechanism that will allow us to embark planes from neighbour countries such as Brazil, with whom we have already agreed», he finally detailed.
