Asunción, Agencia IP.- Due to the high demand for air tickets, several companies have announced an increase in their weekly flight frequencies from Asunción to cities such as Buenos Aires, Córdoba, and Madrid, adding summer flights to Brazil and Uruguay.
This was reported by the Director of Silvio Pettirossi Airport, Rubén Aguilar, who highlighted that more than 3,000 passengers per day are currently being recorded at the country’s central airport station and that on Christmas, the number of passengers registered during the year exceeded one million.
In a radio interview, Aguilar confirmed that Air Europa added one more flight to the Asunción-Madrid route on Tuesday.
He emphasized that with this addition, the company now offers six weekly flights and expressed confidence that they can return to operating flights seven days a week. «We reached a daily flight in the past, and we are aiming for that again,» he said.
He also announced that the low-cost airline JetSmart, which operates the Asunción-Buenos Aires (Aeroparque) route, would increase its frequency from January 7, 2024, adding one more flight to its schedule.
The airline currently operates three weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and will add a fourth flight on Sundays.
Another company that announced an increase in its flight frequency is Aerolíneas Argentinas, which will add one more weekly flight to the Asunción-Córdoba itinerary starting in April.
Finally, Paranair announced «summer flights» to regional tourist destinations such as Florianópolis, Rio de Janeiro, and Punta del Este.
Aguilar indicated that the details of the days and times of these special seasonal flights would be available later in the week.
