Asunción, Agencia IP.- From November 6 to 10, authorities and representatives from the Inter-American Metrology System (SIM) will meet in our country for the annual assembly of the organism.
The Director of the National Institute of Technology and Standardization (INTN, by its acronym in Spanish) participated in a press conference yesterday.
“We must keep in mind that behind all that development policy that what we want for Paraguay, there is a science, which is metrology, that governs commercial transactions and the development of our industries,» she said.
Metrology is an exact and trustworthy science, and its applications go from commerce to health care, work systems, and security certifications, among others.
The event’s agenda includes technical meetings of the QSTF (Quality System Task Force) group, which analyzes the quality management system of the Inter-American Metrology System, among other specialized tables.
Directives from the INTN pointed out that the assembly and its meetings will be an opportunity to demonstrate Paraguay’s development level regarding measuring systems and reaffirm the country’s commitment to fair measures in commercial transactions and the support at an industrial group with the traceability of measurements in the production chain.
The SIM assembly will reunite representatives from 46 countries that are members of the American continent. The opening act of the General Assembly is due on Thursday at 08:00 a.m., with the presence of national and governmental authorities and special guests.
The Inter-American Metrology System Week (SIM Week) will occur at the Asunción Sheraton Hotel. The event was declared of national interest by the executive branch, supporting the National Metrology Strategy that is intended to be developed in the next five years.
