Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Italian Radiotelevision (RAI) will be showcasing the best of Paraguay through its religious tourism program «A sua immagine» (In Your Image). This exciting project will take viewers on a journey through Paraguay’s most emblematic religious sites, presenting its rich history and spiritual tradition to an international audience of over 8 million.
Over an 8-episode series, the program will explore the Jesuit Missions, considered one of the largest and most brilliant experiments in development cooperation in South America. It will also highlight circuits such as the Franciscan Path, Paraguay’s historic churches, museums, gastronomy, the country’s natural beauty, and its warm people.
Among the places to be visited are the Museum of Ceramics in Asunción, the Basilica of Nuestra Señora de los Milagros de Caacupé, the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria en Areguá, and the Misiones Jesuíticas de la Santísima Trinidad, among others.
In an exclusive interview with our media outlet, Father Marco Pozza, priest and the program host, shared his enthusiasm for discovering Paraguay, highlighting the importance of the country’s religious tradition, especially regarding the Jesuit missions and the local Christian community. «We chose Paraguay because we want to discover a country that is not very well known, especially for its missionary tradition of the Church in Latin America, specifically for the Jesuit reductions,» he expressed.
Father Pozza expressed his admiration for the deep Catholic faith present in Paraguay, in a Latin American context where Christian presence faces challenges. He highlighted the beauty and depth of the Christian community in the country. He shared his desire to continue exploring and showcasing Paraguay to the world through future tourism projects. «We want to discover this country. In these last few days, we discovered the Paraguayan Christian community, which is very beautiful and profound, and very close to the Magisterium. Additionally, we want to continue coming with a group of pilgrims. I hope we can come back in September,» he indicated.
During a meeting this week between President Santiago Peña and Father Marco Pozza at Mburuvicha Róga, the potential of Paraguay as a religious tourism destination was highlighted.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of this historic collaboration between RAI Italy and Paraguay, which will undoubtedly contribute to showcasing the richness and diversity of the country’s tourism offerings to the world.
