Ministry of Linguistics Policy highlights MITIC’s initiative to translate official news into Guaraní

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Minister of Linguistics Policy (SPL, by its acronym in Spanish), Ladislaa Alcaraz de Silvero, highlighted the initiative of the Ministry of Technologies of Information and Communications (MITIC) for the implementation of the use of Guaraní, one of the two official languages of Paraguay, as a language of communication for the news of the government’s digital portal.

“We celebrate that MITIC incorporates the equal use of both official languages for the treatment of public information, just as is stated in the Law of Languages of the Nation”, stated Alcaraz.

She also distinguishes the commitment and the importance of this management to integrate the English language for the diffusion of digital news: “It is an international language that unites us to the world”.

In its projection as a source of plural official information at the national and international level, the IP Agency recently incorporated specific news sections in the Guaraní and English languages, among other innovations, to offer a quality service.

Guaraní is one of the two official languages of the Republic of Paraguay, along with Spanish, recognized as such in the 1992 National Constitution.
