New Paraguayan Ambassador sworn in to Israel

Asuncion, Agencia IP.- On Tuesday morning, the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, swore in Alejandro Rubín Cymerman as the new Ambassador of Paraguay to the State of Israel. The new representative will present his credentials in the allied country in a few days.

«Alejandro Rubín is a person who knows Israeli culture perfectly, knows the country, as well as Paraguay’s need for an approach where the bilateral agenda is related to cooperation and trade,» said the National Chancellor, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, after the swearing-in ceremony.

Rubín will soon present the credentials that enable him to carry out his task «in that country so important for our international relations,» added the Chancellor.

At the same time, he emphasized that Paraguay received with satisfaction the recent news of the opening of the Israeli market for bone-in beef from Paraguay, «which represents a qualitative leap in the export opportunities for this product.»

He indicated that technical-scientific cooperation plays a vital role in the relations between the two states and in other fields where Israel has a significant level of development and specialization, such as irrigation systems for agricultural production, which are of interest to Paraguay.

He also pointed out that, at the diplomatic level, they are working with the Israeli Government so that it appoints and accredits an Ambassador in Asuncion «to have a principle of balance.»

Structural reorganization of the diplomatic service

On the other hand, the Chancellor highlighted that the swearing-in of the new Paraguayan Ambassador to the State of Israel represents the beginning of a series of accreditations in currently vacant embassies.

«There are more than 14 vacancies at the moment; we will be asking for approval from the countries and then sending the constitutional agreement request to Congress,» said Ramírez Lezcano.

He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is carrying out a structural reorganization of both the local and international diplomatic services.

«In the foreign service, we are resizing our entire presence and appointing Ambassadors,» he said.

The names of the next ambassadors to be appointed will be gradually known as we receive the approval of the various governments and send the approval request message to Congress, he added.
