Paraguay has accessed the U.S. market, becoming one of 18 countries worldwide

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The United States Ambassador, Marc Ostfield, emphasized that the shipment of Paraguayan meat to the United States reflects the high quality of the product, making Paraguay one of the 18 countries worldwide with access to the American market.

«We have been working for several years on re-certifying Paraguayan beef for export to the U.S. market. Today, we can say that after seven years of work, it is a reality again,» stated Ostfield during the Wednesday event.

In this regard, he highlighted that Paraguay joins the exclusive group of 18 countries globally with access to the American market.

He emphasized that containers loaded with meat are en route to the United States today, reflecting the high quality of the Paraguayan product and, above all, the food safety and animal health systems.

He also mentioned that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) follows a rigorous technical and scientific process that reflects the high standards of the U.S. system.

In the same vein, he stated that the approval is also a testimony to the hard work of the National Service of Quality and Animal Health (Senacsa) and other Paraguayan institutions involved in the USDA process.

Priority on strengthening trade links

«Soon, Americans will be able to savor the famous and delicious Paraguayan meat. Therefore, today, the U.S. Embassy also celebrates this achievement as a significant milestone. Strengthening our trade links is one of our priorities as an Embassy, which characterizes us as good partners and friends,» he added.

At another moment, the Diplomat announced they would continue seeking opportunities to strengthen ties and bring more American companies to invest in Paraguay. He informed that they have plans to promote the arrival of more commercial delegations in 2024.

On this point, he confirmed that they receive daily requests for information about the Paraguayan market from U.S. companies, demonstrating an interest in the business climate of the Guarani nation.

«Today is a day of celebration; let us continue working together for a stronger market between both nations,» he concluded.
