Asunción, Agencia IP.- Paraguay will be present with a 53 m2 space at the Osaka Expo in Japan from April 13 to October 13, 2025.
On Friday, February 16, the Sub-Working Group (SWG) for the Design of Paraguay’s Stand met within the framework of the Interinstitutional Commission (IC) for the planning, organization, and management of the participation of the Republic of Paraguay in the «Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.»
Representatives from the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MITIC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), the National Secretariat of Culture (SNC), the Office of the First Lady (OPD), the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT), and the Paraguayan Institute of Crafts (IPA) participated.
On this occasion, missing details for the design of the stand components were defined, and a list of materials necessary for each element was drawn up. The Sub-Working Group also agreed to present the design to the Interinstitutional Commission Expo Osaka for approval.
The theme of the Expo is «Designing the Society of the Future for Our Lives,» with the three subthemes: «Saving lives,» «Empowering lives,» and «Connecting lives.» The subtheme «Saving lives» includes child vaccines, sanitation, lifestyle (diet and exercise), and increasing life expectancy. Paraguay has chosen the «Connecting Lives» subtheme so MITIC will contribute ideas and elements to the Expo.
The «Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan,» is a World Expo organized and regulated by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). It will last six months, opening on April 13 and closing on October 13, 2025.
This will be Osaka’s third time hosting an Expo, following the Expo 70 and a Horticultural Exhibition in 1990. With Expo 2025, the traditional five-year cycle between each Universal Exposition will return, interrupted when Dubai 2020 was postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Expo 2025 is expected to receive approximately 28 million visitors.
