Paraguay present at the High-Level Women’s Talk RAADH

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Minister of Women, Cynthia Figueredo, is participating in the Meeting of High-Level Authorities on Human Rights of the Mercosur (RAADH); this Friday, the Minister intervened in the High-Level Women’s Talk.

The Meeting of High-Level Authorities on Human Rights of the Mercosur (RAADH) is a space for intergovernmental coordination to promote the exchange of experiences and impulse public human rights policies among members of the associate countries. The delegation in the Ministry of Women is the Vice Minister of Equality and Non-Discrimination, Sonia Brucke.

The intervention of the Minister of Women of Paraguay was based on the care policy that is being worked on in the country, and she mentioned the action plan and the bill that was presented. This joint work aims to build a common diagnosis among the States Parties of Mercosur regarding care policies, allowing them to know, make visible, and share experiences, lessons learned, and challenges based on exchanging information to strengthen an agenda of care of the regional bloc with a human rights focus.

On the other hand, the countries presented a report about the right to a life free of violence and how to combat misogyny. Paraguay presented the Law for the Integral Protection of Women against all Forms of Violence – Law 5777/16, which aims to promote and guarantee the right of women to a life free of violence, in addition to mentioning the services provided by the Ministry of Women and what are the next steps that are being worked on.
