Paraguay takes the potential of yerba mate industry to a food fair in Dubai

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Paraguayan Yerba Mate Center is carrying out an essential commercial mission in the United Arab Emirates within the framework of the Gulfood 2024 fair, which will take place from February 19 to 23 in Dubai, to position Paraguayan Yerba Mate in the Arab and Asian markets.

The Paraguayan delegation, led by the president of the Paraguayan Yerba Mate Center, Eduardo Oswald; the manager, Naida Alderete; the representative of Yerba Indega, Víctor Chamorro; and the representatives of Grupo Selecta, Micaela Bronstrup and Magali Bronstrup, held a working meeting today with the Paraguayan ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, José Agüero, and the Commercial Attaché, Paola Subeldía, to outline joint actions to identify potential clients and intensify the international promotion of the product.

The Paraguayan delegation of entrepreneurs from the sector will participate in the Gulfood Fair, where they already have an agenda with potential clients such as manufacturers of yerba mate beverages, energizers, and yerba mate tea. The clients are from Hungary, Malta, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Syria.

He reported that in addition to the parallel meetings, they will meet with important yerba mate distributors and supermarket chains, targeting Turkey, Lebanon, and Syria, among other markets.

«From the Paraguayan Yerba Mate Center, we are here to promote ground yerba mate, which is in demand in these markets, organic yerba mate, and yerba mate tea bags in all presentations from the guild’s partner industries,» said Oswald.

He emphasized that 90% of the partner industry are clients of the Paraguayan Yerba Mate Center.
